Lovin' me some Jillibean Soup!

I think this is my new motto.....look for something to celebrate every day.  The Lord puts so many opportunities for joy in my path everyday and I tend to plow right through them without taking the time to experience the joy.  My new plan is to look for the joy, look for the opportunities to celebrate the world around me, find happiness in the little everyday things!

Of course, this is easy on days like today.....why, you ask?  Today, I get to share my new scrappin' news!  I am so excited to be a new member of the Jillibean Soup Design Team!  I love Jillibean Soup and I have wanted to be part of their team for years and now I am!  WooHoo......be sure to check out the announcement over on the Jillibean Soup blog today

By buddy, Andrea can celebrate today too!  I'm so proud of her and thrilled that she is one of the guest designers!  Way to go, friend!

My Little Man....

William is turning into quite the little man....I only have him 2 times a week now, so we do a lot of playing while he's here.  Today we played with a fun box, took a walk to the park, and enjoyed a very messy nutrigrain bar!  We followed that up with some tub time so he would be all clean for mom!

At eight months old he...
  • --- is chattering up a storm...
  • --- can climb up and down the living room stairs...
  • --- is crawling super fast...
  • --- can push himself up into a sitting position from a crawling one...
  • --- can feed himself cheerios...
  • --- can click his tongue and pop his lips...
  • --- spashes like crazy in the bathtub...
  • --- can give a high five...
  • --- loves Cooper and laughs outloud when he smacks his tail on the floor...
  • --- can stand up at the couch...
  • --- loves to play in the tupperware drawer...
  • --- will "walk" with help...
  • --- is trying very hard to get a tooth....

Okay....these two pics were from yesterday..... couldn't resist taking a picture of him doing the "flipper" move....that is so reminiscent of his Uncle Luke!

Be sure to check my blog tomorrow....I have some fun scrappy news to share!

Enlightened disappointment???

I am being reminded today that disappointment is a part of our lives no matter how hard we try to guard ourselves from it.  We can prepare, plan, study, organize, bribe, pray, you name it...we can do it and it won't guard us from feeling the pangs of disappointment.  I'm constantly telling my kids...."Don't set yourself up for disappointment".....but I wonder now if that sends the wrong signal.  Does it say, "Don't try"? The reality is that the disappointment that I feel today is healthy....it's the kind that you feel when you put yourself out there and strive for something you want....for a goal.  God is whispering to me today that He is proud of me....that my goals are within reach....that I need to follow Him and walk through His open doors...He is telling me to get up and try again.  To smile.  To hope.  To pray.  To give it another shot.  To NEVER give up.

So today in the face a very minor dissapointment, I am thrilled to be His daughter....to be comforted by His arms...to be sure of His love for me....what else do I need?

I can't write a blog post without a couple of photos....these ones crack me up.  William crawled into his toy basket yesterday and couldn't get out!

Then he got his second haircut!
