24 years and Holding Strong!

24 years ago, I married this guy:

Of course he looked a bit different back then:

Okay, so we both did - look different back then.  24 years and it has flown by --- we have 7 great kids with some wonderful significant others and an amazing granddaughter.  We are truly blessed.  What is even more amazing to me is that we are still over the top in love with each other.  I still get butterflies when he comes home from work or looks at me across the room.  I couldn't have asked for a better man - he is one great husband and father.  Now, to start planning our 25th anniversary vacation!

Happy Birthday Baby!

Happy Birthday to You,
Happy Birthday to You,
Happy Birthday to Austin,
Happy Birthday to You!

Happy 16, Bud. Time for a little reminiscing....

- You were a sweet natured baby, so easy & sweet.  Even with the broken collar-bone that you were born with, you were always so happy.  You were the best sleeper, the best eater, and the best baby - always content to be hanging out with your family, just like today.
- You have taught me the meaning of perseverance.  You power through even when life gets tough and becomes a struggle.  You never give up --- you just try harder.  I love that about you.
- You have an amazing ability to love unconditionally like the Lord loves you.  You are kind and loving to everyone and go out of your way to be a good friend, a good son and a good servant.
- Your love of baseball started very early --- you would hang out in the baby backpack while your dad coached Travis' team --- you would sit in your baby seat and watch the Mariner's on TV --- and you could throw the baseball at 18 months, thanks to your Great-Grandma!

I love you tons, and of course, you will always be my baby boy.

Let it Begin...

... the snow is gone, Thanksgiving is behind us, and the Christmas lists are ready to go.  I plan to do most of my shopping online this year --- not sure if that will make my holiday more or less festive.  But, I'm willing to give it a try!

Here are some more layouts for you:

It's About Time!

I have so much left to share with you from my scrap retreat, but it's been put on hold this week.  We have been a little preoccupied with destruction of the bathroom and the arrival of the first real snowfall of the season.  Yes, snow ---- way too early in the year.  But, the kids are loving it, school is cancelled and David is home.  Hard to get anything accomplished on the computer or in the scrap space, but I am thrilled to have everyone stuck at home with me.  I love a full house full of happy kids and of course I love the photos too!

Jordan took a lot of really great action shots too!  I will have lots of fun stuff to scrap with now!  Speaking of scrapping, here are some layouts to share with you:

Quick & Easy Projects!

Right now over at Dixie Pieces you can get 3 different project kits for 40% the regular price!  These kits come complete with everything you need to finish a fantastic project from start to finish!  My favorite one is the minibook - the Batting Tag Mini!  This was fashioned after one of my designs and I love the added dimension the pages have with batting sewn between the pages!  Of course, those cute tags sticking out and binding the mini together are pretty great too!

You get everything you need to make this great book picture ready for $16.80!  This sale price is while supplies last!  There are a couple other fun projects up for grabs too - make sure to check them all out while you are over at the store

As a reminder, any new subscribers will receive a free goodie bag this month when you sign up!  If you have been waiting --- do it now!

One more fun thing for you --- head on over to the Dixie Pieces Facebook Page and become a friend --- we will be giving away one of those great kits to a random winner real soon!

Couple of Layouts for You!

I have a lot to share --- but still working on getting some pictures taken and photoshopped!  Here are a few to get you started:

Challenge #17 on the My Mind's Eye Blog this week is about Lessons Learned --- following this sketch by Anam Stubbington, here is what I came up with after rotating the sketch 90 degrees:

This one was just for fun --- love this picture of Jordan with the pets all sacked out and cozy in front of the fire:

When we go on retreat, we play a few scrappin' games to keep the energy level up in the room.  My favorite is the round robin game.  Everyone pics out a photo and a piece of paper for the background.  Then we pass it to our left.  That person has 5 minutes to work on the layout before we pass it to the left again!  We continue to pass it to the left every 5 minutes until everyone has worked on every layout.  It's a fabulous time!  When you get your layout back, it is compilation of everyone's style!  Here is the layout that completed with my photo:

Pretty Cute, huh?

This next layout was made with some adorable Pebbles - Tree House paper that I found at a little scrapbook store in Iowa while I was there.  Love that banner of birdhouses!

I'll some more for you in a few days!

I am home from a fun 4 day retreat with the girls over in Belfair --- and I am exhausted!  We stayed up till almost 3am every night and were back up at 7:30 am scrappin' away.  We created non-stop with some laughter, tears and giggles thrown in for good measure.  It was a great time! I have lots of fun things to share with you but I'm holding out hope that the day will brighten up a bit and I can get some good pictures of my layouts.  For know, I'll share with you most of the cards that I created.

The first set are made with the new Jovial line from Basic Grey.  If you are local, you can find this great new line at the Urban Scrapbooker in Edmonds.

If you aren't local to the Pacific Northwest, you can also find the Jovial line at A Walk Down Memory Lane!

Next up are some fun cards created with the new Fine & Dandy line from My Mind's Eye.  Again this line can be found at the Urban Scrapbooker in Edmonds, WA:

Next up are some cards created with a mixture of fun products:
