Chicago Bound

It's been a whole week since I updated my blog ---- but it's been so crazy!  As I type, I am 35,000 feet in the air on my way to Chicago with Jordan for the CHA - Craft & Hobby Association Summer Show.  We are excited to spent some time together and see all the new products that will be arriving in the stores soon.  This is Jordan's last week before preseason soccer starts and school will be right around the corner.  I am thankful for the time with her before her life gets crazy busy again.

But, just what kept me so busy last week?  Well --- let me tell you!  It's tough to pack for 2 back to back trips -- but that's what I did!  The first part of the week I spent getting all my scrappin assignments done and uploaded -- then moved on for packing for Houston.  Houston?  Yep, Houston.  I flew out on Friday to spend the weekend with my buddies from My Sketch World  in Houston.  We did a lot of screaming, hugging, laughing, scrappin' and crying --- one fantastic time!  Once things settle down, I will get photos posted and give you some stories --- there were a lot of hysterical moments!

I flew home to Seattle last night at 9pm - unpacked, repacked, hugged on my boys and husband, spent a glorious 7 hours sleeping in my own bed, and then headed back to the airport this morning at 6am.  Now, I am flying over Montana about 2 hours from touching down in Chcago.  It's been a whirlwind 3 days with no end in site till Friday night at 10pm when we arrive back home.

I will take tons of photos and give you my top twn highlights of the show --- check pack in tomorrow!

It's Going to be a Cottage Christmas!

hehehe -- I love to talk about Christmas in July when the temps are pushing 90 degrees, I haven't started my shopping and there is absolutely NO STRESS associated with the holiday! It's perfect!

In addition to the Christmas in July Crop over at A Walk Down Memory Lane, Imaginisce has just release it's new Christmas line, Cottage Christmas! Here are the first couple of projects that I have created:

Christmas Cards

Merry and Bright

Do you notice those fun embossed papers? Yep, I have been playing with my Cuttlebug Machine! I was lucky enough to get some new embossing folders in my Imaginisce box this month because they are teaming up with ProvoCraft  as design partners! I can't wait to play some more with them later this month!

And those snowflakes?  Really heavy duty acrylic embellishments that came out with this new line!

My Mind's Eye Goodies

I have been lovin' on some wonderful My Mind's Eye goodies this weekend -- the Quite Contrary line is getting all my attention lately! My Mind's Eye takes all the guess work out of creating because they coordinate everything so perfectly!

This first layout is for a challenge over at the Up the Street Blog this month. It was to create a summer layout with at least 3 photos. I loved how the greens in this paper line were perfect for the grass in my photos --- even though my photos were overexposed a bit!

smile - summertime

Yes, that's Austin with his friend Jess. Since when is Austin camera shy? Really? Well, it makes for cute pictures!

This next layout is for the Challenge #13 on the My Mind's Eye blog. Create a layout with the word Hope using a fun sketch by Anam Stubbington, a My Mind's Eye Designer extraordinaire!

This is what I came up with:

and one more for you:

Now if you want to get you hands on some of this yummy paper, I know just the place! That's right, I do! A Walk Down Memory Lane has it all! Make sure to head on over there and check it out because their store is full of yummy stuff just like this!

You have until July 21st to get the challenges done and qualify to win the prize pack from Jillibean Soup!

Technique Tuesday

Technique Tuesday Stamps has been around for years and they are known for their quality acrylic stamps. I was really excited when I heard that they were going to be one of the Manufacturers of the Month over at A Walk Down Memory Lane because I love them! I especially love their amll stamp sets with the adorable sentiments on them. So this month, I choose this set to work with:

The sentiments were so perfect for some fun little pocket cards:

mini 4

mini 1

The first three cards were made by covering chipboard with paper. The chipboard was from this cute little Maya Road Chipboard Keychain:

For the last card, I used some fun felt embellishments from Sassafras Lass. All the cards were created with paper from Jillibean Soup.

They are on sale till the end of the month - 25% all inventory in stock! In addition, don't forget that the Jillibean Soup is also on sale till the 31st!

Dog sitting a English Bull Mastiff puppy for a few days --- look how adorable he is:

Cooper is a bit jealous but for the most part enjoying having a buddy to play with:

skunder & coop

Austin is doing the dog sitting so he can have some more funds for his Church trip to California in a couple weeks. He has to carry a towel with him at all times --- the slobber from Skunder is nonstop!

The girls took some fun photos the other day and then I had even more fun photoshopping them and playing with the goodies over at BEFUNKY.com.
