Another Home Run!

I know -- more baseball lingo -- it seems to be all I have on the brain lately. I guess it's a good thing that nothing relaxes me more than a good baseball game. This time, though, I'm referring to the new line that was just released from Echo Park Paper Co, A Walk in the Park! It's definitely another home run for this brand new company!

If you are local to the Seattle area, you get get the whole collection from Brooke at the Urban Scrapbooker in Edmonds!

These will also be on display there:

Sunshine, Baseball and the Beach!

Sweet summertime ---- love the sun, love the ballpark, and love the beach! I got to have all three today and that makes me one happy girl! Headed to the ballpark this afternoon for a game with Austin & the Bombers. We were praying big for a win so that they would have tomorrow off and I could attend a friends open house -- but they couldn't pull it off. The loss means that they will play 2 games tomorrow and coupled with Chase's All-Star game, the party is not going to happen for me. I am pretty bummed about that -- sorry, friend :(.

But, we did get home in time to take Coop to the Beach - Dog Park. He is so funny down there. He struts his stuff and protects his stick at all costs. He hovers over the stick like it's gold and barks if any other pup comes close! Man, does he like the water! We like to say that he is the "BIG DOG ON THE BEACH-BDOB":

David & Luke have tons of fun down there too:

Sure hope everyone enjoyed the summer day today ---

Imaginisce has hit a home-run again with their brand-new birthday line, Birthday Bash! This is a universal birthday line that can be used for all ages --- the color palette is yummy with a warm brown neutral! I love it!

It just so happens that we had a birthday present to make for a friend's party today! With the help of the boys, we created this fun birthday 6-pack of soda, candy & fun!

Summertime is Here!

I'm just a bit hesitant to announce that --- but I'm trying to have a positive outlook! This is day number 2 of temps above 70 degrees and we are feelin' the summertime energy flowin' through us! Baseball games in the sunshine, play time at the park and maybe even some pool time very soon! Created this layout using papers from Scrappin' Sports & More's fun swimming papers:

All Summer Long

That's where we want to be very soon --- staying cool in the pool at Grandma's!

Happy Day Everyone!

Too much Testosterone!

My husband is the best father out there. Really -- but get him in a ping pong tournament and it's bye bye Mr. Perfect father! I mean, after all --- he has taught them all by example and he hates to lose! When you combine ping pong and testosterone you get a whole lot of intense competition! There was match after match, and rematch after rematch and I want to play you and they you can play him and .... on and on and on.

The girls stayed out of it and had ourselves a little marshmellow roasting over the BBQ! Did you know that they make X-Large marshmellows now? Oh my, were they ever good!

Father's Day was perfect --- a lazy morning, a great dinner of BBQ Bacon Cheeseburgers with grilled onions and avocados, smore's for dessert, a ping pong tournament, Rock Band, some darts and then a movie. We hung out for almost 5 hours enjoying all the kids and their stories. David was in Heaven --- he even won some of those ping pong games --- he's still got it!

Saying Goodbye...

...to an old friend tonight. He has faithfully been by my side for the last 7 years. I don't know what I would have done without him. He was tough and made it through battles with ocean waters, sandy beaches, chlorinated pools, greasy fingers, clumsy children, baggage handlers, xray machines, and amateur photographers. He has documented hundreds of events including birthdays, graduations, holidays and memorial services. He has produced thousands and thousands of gorgeous photographs that provide an endless amount of wonderful memories. He has been faithful and could always bring a smile to my face. It's time for him to retire, to take a break from the daily non-stop use I put him through. He can relax now and teach my boys how to take the perfect shot - help them fall in love with photography like I did. He was my first big purchase, my first real camera and I will always remember him fondly.

But - let's not dwell! I am the proud new owner of a Canon 30D and I am so darn excited! About 7 years ago, I introduced my neighbor to the world of Canon DSLR cameras and she has been hooked ever since. She is an amazing photographer and just recently upgraded to the 50D. She knew that I was saving up for a replacement camera and decided that she would pass on her 30D when she upgraded! Isn't that the sweetest thing ever? In addition, she is loaning me her class manuals so I can get up to speed with everything the camera has to offer! I am diving in tonight!

The speed is lightning quick and the photos are so crisp and clear! Just check out the details in that photo of my original camera! I'm in Heaven! Here are a few shots that Jordan & I took while we were playing with it today!

Cooper was an easy guinea pig:

coop talking

I love that it takes so many shots consecutively that it captured that look on Coop's face --- almost like he's talking!

bone coop

So that money I had been saving up? I used it to buy a new lens so that the old camera could keep it's lens and be a complete unit. Look at these gorgeous macro shots Jordan took with the new lens!

I had to go to my favorite etsy store, Cotton Candy and buy this:

Won't that look sharp on my new baby?

Pink Paislee Artisan Tape

Oh my --- I love the new tapes from Pink Paislee! You can find the whole collection at the A Walk Down Memory Lane store right now! They are so versatile! In fact, Erica did a fun blog post about ways to use them to create your own embellishments! Brilliant! Me, on the other hand, went with a more traditional use and used them as border strips!

Scrapbook News and Review

I am loving my new staff position over at Scrapbook News and Review online magazine! It is really pushing me to try some new things - I even started working on a canvas piece with gesso, molding paste and everything! I can't wait to show that off - never thought I'd be much of a mixed media artist!

The new issue is set to debut on June 20th and it's going to be a fabulous issue! Make sure you go on over there and get yourself a subscription! If you want to check it all out first, there are tons of great links on the home page to get you started! You can always jump in on the forums too - because let me tell you, there are some amazing ideas floating around there!

Here are a few things that you will find coming up in the magazine in the next few months -- you will only see them here for a few days before they need to come down!

sweet dreams

Color Challenge!

A Walk Down Memory Lane is overflowing with new product this month and I have to admit that I have been doing my fair share of shopping EVERY month! I just got my shipment and it is full of yummy stuff for me to play with!

I love a good challenge, especially a color challenge. When working a color challenge, I love to pull out all the scraps and papers I have in that color palette and start playing with layers and going crazy! This month was no exception! I started with a fairly tradition color scheme for July - red & navy blue and tweaked it a bit by adding in baby blue and cream! I love the results! Of course it helped to have some new Pink Paislee - 365 Degrees and The Girl's Paperie - On Holidaylines at my disposal!

Love US

You can find this challenge up on the Design Team Blog right now! Complete the color challenge by the end of the month and get it linked to the blog post and you can be entered to win a RAK from the Store!

In more news from A Walk Down Memory Lane, we are debuting our designs from the second Manufacturer of the Month for June! Our stamp company this month is CC Designs and I just fell in love with their Underwater Sentiment Stamps! They worked so well with my Splash Dance Line from Imaginisce and my new stuff from Graphic 45, On the Boardwalk!

Don't forget that both of the Manufacturers of the Month for June, October Afternoon and CC Designs, are 25% off in the store until June 30th! Fill up your shopping carts!

Finally, a Sunny Weekend!

Two days in a row - wow, that's a record! Well, at least for this summer so far! The sun was out and it was gorgeous here in the Pacific Northwest this weekend.

However, yesterday I spent the day indoors with my scrappin' buddies at a one-day crop in Rochester, WA. We were all there helping say, "Bon Voyage" to Tiffany as her and her family are making a huge move to Alaska this week! It's been great to connect with another scrapbook fanatic here in Washington, and I am really going to miss her! I played with my Dixie Pieces June kit and had a great day! I loved being with Sherry & Leslie and meeting a new friend, Melinda! I love that scrapbookers have instant connections.

Today, after spending the morning putting my scrappin' stuff away, I was able to hang out with David & Cooper at the ball field while Austin and his team played a double header. Totally a relaxing day! Even managed to get my camera out today!
