Weigh in Monday

Okay--weighed in early today because the kids are off on spring break------I am down 2.8 pounds this week for a total of 6 pounds. I so wish I could see that kind of loss every week! But, no ---it will level off and average about 4 pounds per month. I will be happy with that. My first goal is 10 pounds total by April 21st.

Travis has been working on the roof and from what I can tell he is almost finished! Praise the Lord! Here is a picture of him leaning over through the roof where one of my new skylights is going to be:

Rec'd Jordan's senior pictures this week - they are so beautiful! A friend from church took them for us and I love them all!!! I am going to go through them tonight and resize them --so you can all see them tomorrow! I am going to find my senior pictures too --because man does she look like I did at that age. Amazing.

Here is a preview for you!

I am been scrapping this week --just because. Here are a few layouts for you -they were quick & easy - nothing too elaborate! Should get my box from the SCRAP-DINER tomorrow! YooooHooo!

To-do list?

I am trying to hang in there. Trying to keep my patience in check. Trying to control my frustration. Those of you that know me, know how hard all those things are for me! I have this mental list---a list of things that are making me stressed out and I just want to start checking them off. You know what I mean---get them all off my list. Somehow, I don't think it's going to be as easy as working from a normal "to do" list. I wish it was though! WOuldn't that be great:

----Eat healthier and lose 25 pounds ---CHECK
----Finish Construction and put house back together ---CHECK
----Settle all strife in the house ---CHECK
----Pay off all bills and get out of debt ---CHECK
----Get new puppy and train her to be good dog---CHECK
----Get refridgerator fixed---CHECK
----Prepay Jordan's college tuition---CHECK
----Get Travis back in school---CHECK

Wouldn't that be great? Just the thought of being able to put them on a check-off list makes me giggle. Pretty funny stuff. But, somehow just writing them down makes me feel just a little bit better! At least I can see how humorous it is to think that I can do anything about them today. Downright ridiculous. I can't do a thing about any of them today and worrying about them is pointless. The only thing I can do is give them up to the Lord---there that I can do. I can also realize that there are so many people right now with real things to worry about. I can pray for them to.

Funny how blogging makes me feel better--like talking to a friend. Love that. Have a great day - friend!

I'm daydreaming about....

sitting in my house in silence.....no construction noise.......completely finished and beautiful. Looking out my new French doors and seeing beautiful flowers blooming.

A friend asked me what I was daydreaming about today----the same thing I have been daydreaming about since December. No more construction.

This morning Austin told me his ceiling was leaking last night. He was so sweet--I said, "why didn't you come get us?" and his response was, "I didn't want to wake you up!". SO needless to say, we have a leak in the roof. Not sure yet if it is in the newly roofed section or the section that hasn't been roofed yet. Hopefully, we can get Travis or Greg over here today to enlighten us! If it's not one thing, it's another.

I am pretty tired of life getting in the way of what I want to do---which is scrap! I haven't sat and scrapped now for at least 10 days and I am starting to get grumpy! I am going to work on my DT Kit from Dixie Pieces tonight if it kills me! It is such a great kit---full of Dream Street and Daisy Bucket Papers! It is a rockin kit and I have been waiting to dive into it! Tonights the night! Well, if I get the leak fixed!

Here are the layouts I did for the Guest DT over at Scrapbooker's Clubhouse---lovin that Scenic Route Lynden Collection!

Weigh-in Monday (okay, so I'm a day late!)

First weigh-in yesterday ------------and I am down 3.2 pounds! The first week is the easiest and now it will get tougher! But, hopefully, my motivation will stay strong and I can plug along. If I average a pound a week, I will be thrilled!

Missed blogging over the weekend -- but we were so darn busy! Saturday was spent working on the roof and making trips to the dump. I don't think I have done that much physical labor in FOREVER. Sunday, the torrential rains arrived and kept us off the roof. But, we managed to enjoy church, Easter dinner with the neighbors, and still get the bedrooms put back together. So, everyone is in their own rooms again, and we are about 8 huge bags of stuff lighter. 4 to the dump and 4 to Goodwill. I love to purge!

What else?

Chase had a baseball game last night and spent 3 boring innings in the outfield (his comment) but his team was victorious.

Jordan had her senior pictures taken yesterday by a friend from Church-can't wait to see those.

The siding is going up on the house today - will try to remember to post a pic.

I will post again tonight--I always seem to have more to say when I can think and the house is quiet! till then......

on the verge....

of destruction! Okay, well that is a slight exaggeration. But, I felt on the verge yesterday. On the verge of what, I'm not sure. But, my hubby came home early, dealt with the construction and washing machine issues and I seem no worse for the wear today. Thank you, Lord.

Good Friday---I don't think I've ever really thought too much about this day. But, I was determined this year to stay focused on what is really important today and what our memories of this day should be. So to that end, I gave the boys the day off from boring school work and had them write a paper on waht Good Friday means to them. Then we watched "The Passion of the Christ". It was the boys first time and it was a powerful reminder to us all of the sacrifice of Jesus. Truly an amazing thing.

Belated Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The big hit of the holiday was the green sparkly hats that Brooke gave the boys!

st patricks day 5-7

Check out this conversation:

Luke to Brooke - "thanks for the hat, you can have my ring" (ring was plastic green shamrock)

Brooke to Luke - "for me? - Yes, I WILL MARRY you!"

Luke then turns as red as he possibly could get ----

Weight Watchers

Hey everyone - how are you?

I have to say that I feel great. I committed to going back to weight watchers and I attended my first meeting yesterday. It felt great to make that decision and to know that I am on my way to feeling healthy and fit. I was so pleased and proud when I hit my goal weight---oh my gosh, it was 6 years ago. But, all it took was that first 5 pounds to come back before I sabotaged myself and it all crept back. So, I am back at square one. But you know what? At least I am back! Back on track, back on the program and back feeling in control.

I have 25 pounds to lose. I weigh in on Mondays, so from now on, my Monday post will be titled, "Weigh in day". I need to share, I need to commit and I need to feel accountable. It is how I succeed. So, help me out ladies.....if you don't see a post here every Monday with a weight report---ask me "what's up?"

You know what--it isn't even about the number - heck, I don't even own a scale. It is more about being 43 and feeling like crap. I need to feel better, I need to feel more in control, I need to feel like I have my whole life in front of me. I know that the Lord put me here and that he will use this weakness of mine to His glory. So, with HIS help and your support, I can do this.

My first goal is to make it through this week drinking 48 ounces of water a day. That may not sound like much to some of you but to me it sounds like an ocean. I am not a water drinker. So, that is my focus this week (besides staying on program) - to drink plenty of water.

Okay--enough about that.

So how are you?

Right, I asked that already.

Hey--another fun thing happened today. My mom announced that she wants to be a scrapbooker! Okay, a card maker. Isn't that the coolest thing ever? I love that she has been so supportive and so interested in my hobby. But, it's even cooler that she wants to share it with me! So, plans are to put together all the necessary stuff for her and then show her all my favorite places to shop! SHe is going to do great! She already knows the basics and her first set of cards she made rock! So Kudos today go to my mom for stepping out of her comfort zone and being willing to try something new and exciting!

Here is the mini book I made with that awesome Sweetwater Giggles-Boy Paper. BTW-You can find it all over at the Scrap-Diner in the shopping mart. http://www.scrap-diner.com/

Sunday thoughts....

So remember that plan that I had yesterday, that schedule? Well, let's just say I had to throw it out the window today. David got hurt yesterday stocking the sheetrock and won't be taping any time soon. I am sorry that he is in pain, really I am. I just am having a hard time with the schedule setback. But, he is a pretty tough man to keep down, so at least together today we were able to get the rest of it hung. Jordan's walls are covered and we can put the room back together. The mud and paint will have to wait for another day!

My new washer & dryer get delivered tomorrow. I was pretty upset that we had to purchase new ones. But now that I have had a week using the old ones while I waited for the new ones to be delivered, I have to say that I am pretty excited! I didn't realize just how bad of shape the old ones were in. I will make sure to take pics tomorrow!

Posted my sneak peek layout for the Scrapbooker's Clubhouse Guest Design Team this weekend. Here is a look at it:

I also found out today that I was the runner up in the Scrappin Mojo Iron Chef contest. So that is pretty darn cool! I had a great time using all those fun embellishments that they sent out! And Kudos to Laura---the Iron Chef Winner! Her stuff is fabulous! Check out her blog www.msgrace-thegiftofgrace.blogspot.com and you will see what I mean!

Well, you all have a great week---

Never ending mess....

I knew it was coming--but I avoided it as long as I could. THe construction mess, that is. Now that they have broken into the house, it seems that everything is continually dirty and dusty. I am struggling with this today. I was happy as long as I had the one room---my office & living room area---that was clean. But, last week during construction they put a hole through the wall into my living room--so there is now construction mess in every room now. No matter how bad I want this construction to be happening, I think I am going crazy.

What's worse-is that I have so much stuff misplaced that everything seems cluttered. So I keep purging. Three more huge bags went to goodwill today. Now, I am usually okay with this, but I think I am going to wake up and go, "where did ______ go?--oh, no, I took it to the goodwill!"

David tore out the inside walls in Jordan's room today (more mess) and put good insulation in them. He will sheetrock them tomorrow and hopefully have them taped and muded by next weekend. THe plan is for me to repaint her room while he & Travis are roofing the house. I'll let you know how that goes!

It definitelyt feels never ending. I keep wishing for it all to be over. I have to be careful doing that, because I might miss out on life. TOmorrow, I am getting my camera out and taking pictures. It always makes me feel better ---after all ----there are memorable moments every day -even during construction!

Mid-week laziness---

Wednesday's----I am either on fire and get tons done, or I am so lazy that nothing gets accomplished. Well, today counts as lazy. I still accomplished things, but the kind of things that take no energy and not too much brain activity! Not necessarily a bad thing in the grander scheme of things. I have had a stress headasche for 3 days straight. Today, I was determined to ignore it until it went away. So, I woke up, skipped my shower, put on my sweats, grabbed all my unread magazines and went to school with the boys. I spend the first 3 hours online reading my forums and posting fun comments. I spent the next hour on the cell with Sher in Arizona venting my heart out. And I spent the last hour at school browsing the sale stuff at Pottery Barn online. I am definitely placing an order.

When we pulled up at home, this is what I saw:

Mar 12 2008 003-1

Remember it used to look like this:

So, I was thrilled at the progress and gave all my construction workers a great big smile. Tomorrow, they get brownies.

Next, I put the pork chops in the oven, took a 15 minute cat nap, picked up David at the bus stop, and got everyone ready for baseball practice. They all just left and the house is quiet. No noise except the quiet humming of the computer and my fingers on the keyboard. All is good.

I have to send out a great big
to Sher for the mid morning pick me up on the phone. She was an angel in disquise today.

So, today after spending an hour on the phone at school, Luke who was hanging out with me at lunchtime said, "She must be really good friend, she did a lot of good listening"! I think he was trying to tell me I was talking too much! Gotta love that--both the good listening and the cute kid!

So my advice to all of you who are dwelling on something that is getting you down ---let it go. Life moves on and you can only do so much. Remind me of that next week, will you?
